Wat Phra Singh 2008
Wat Phra Singh is one of the most important temples in Chiang Mai.
Construction was started in 1345 by King Phayu, the fifth king of the Mengrai dynasty, to house the ashes of his father. In 1367 the Phra Buddha Singh statue originating from Bodh Gaya (India) was brought to the temple and the temple received its present name.
