Arts and Crafts;Decorative Items;Wicker LampsAnother charming relic of the old Chiang Mai. Good burgers.
Restaurants;Sports Bars;German Food;German CuisineThere is a small muslim community in the Chang Pueak Gate area and this is their mosque.
Mosques;Houses of WorshipConsistently rave reviews: Good location and friendly staff make this a good choice and great value.
Hotels;Guesthouses;Bed and BreakfastBrilliant font design for the logo. Very popular Korean barbeque that has several branches in Chiang Mai and beyond.
Restaurants;Korean Style BarbecueIt's pronounced "Pa Ja Git". Very friendly staff and reasonable rates with good decoration, but the area is towards the mountain, not the tourist areas. This maybe an advantage for some.
Guesthouses;Villas;Bed and BreakfastOne of the oldest condominium buildings in Chiang Mai, thus a bit run down by now. Expensive woode panelling in the lobby but the public facilities are really in need of a makeover. Large rooms with large balconies and excellent views can be found on holiday rental web sites. This condo is at a prime riverside location.
CondominiumsA relatively new and nicely designed love hotel with themed rooms. Most love hotels in Chiang Mai are quite run down, but this one may be one of the nicer ones judging from the outward appearance.
Love Hotels;Short-Time HotelsJust seven rooms in the Santhitham/YMCA area, cozy and well located with friendly host and staff.
Guesthouses;HotelsFamous marinated chicken and acceptable Isaan food. Open only until 9 pm. or until the chickens run out (not literally), whatever comes first. You come here for the chicken, other food can be much better elsewhere. Sadly, the haphazard preparation of Thai dishes served in small portions is all too common at Thai-Chinese establishments.
Restaurants;Thai CuisineEuropean Thai and French food served in a modern environment
Restaurant;Coffee;CafesNewly built boutique hotel with just ten rooms which enables more attention to individual guests. Location is leafy and cozy near the YMCA. Taxi drivers should also be directed to the YMCA, as it will take hours to explain the name of this hotel. As a side note, guest house and hotel names in Chiang Mai get ever more, well, interesting. At least this one could be dead last alphabetical lists for a while, until someone comes up with "Zzzzorie Full".
Guesthouses;HotelsVery popular nightlife venue with an open bar and techno dance music. Sadly, the reasonable prices are offset by a few scammers behind the counters. Be very careful to always hand over the exact change for drinks (the only product available here). Large bills (500 THB or 1000 THB, the latter is the largest bank note in Thailand) should only be handed over if the drinks are an commensurate amount. Otherwise, it will be claimed that a smaller bill (such as 100 THB) was handed over and no change will be given. Rather, it will be stolen. Better yet, always have witness when stepping up to the counter. When a scam is performed, all remonstration is futile and so is contacting the police. Firstly, the place is owned by members of the Turkish "community" of Chiang Mai, many of them violent thugs who will not shy away from physical violence. Secondly, the police won't help you. There is no place in Chiang Mai with higher payoffs to the police than Zoe in Yellow. Fun can be had here, but be careful! And if you oppose corruption this place is not for you. Lastly, always check the latest Tripadvisor reviews before you go here.
